1st & 2nd Graders Join us for Class!

The 6-week, Spring Clinic is designed to teach basics for new players while sharpening skills for seasoned ones. Each class has a different focus. No matter your skill level, we tailor the coaching to match your experience!

Players can sign up for individual classes, however it’s highly recommended that they book the full 6-weeks in order to get the most out of the program.

  • Sunday, April 27th

    9:00 - 9:50 AM

Our first class is based around learning the fundamental skills of the game - ground balls, shooting and passing. Our featured specialist this week is Anna Bersin, a local licensed mental health counselor with a background in athletics. She'll be coaching the players on goal-setting and resiliency while the coaches take a fun approach to getting the basics right.

  • Sunday, May 4th

    9:00 - 9:50 AM

In week 2, we'll focus on offense! We're running offensive drills including dodging, shooting, 1v1's and 2v2's. Our specialist this week is Gabby Jaquith, the former offensive coordinator and associate head coach for Brown University.

  • Sunday, May 11th (Mother's Day!)

    9:00 - 9:50 AM

Week 3 is dedicated to Defense! We'll work on 1v1 and team defensive drills. The specialist this week is Eileen Ferry, the Head Coach for Bryant University.

  • Sunday, May 18th

    9:00 - 9:50 AM

Week 4 is focused on taking the draw, a specialty of head coach, Kelsey. We will be working on the basics of the draw and also offering an optional lesson for players who are interested in learning more about the position of goalie (gear provided). Our specialist is Tyler Foster, a local physical therapist with a background in injury prevention.

  • Sunday, June 1st

    9:00 - 9:50 AM

Week 5 is called "Transition Day" because we will focus on moving the ball up and down the field. We'll be running man-up/man-down drills and our specialist for the week is Kasey Brown, a local strength and conditioning coach with a background in youth training. Kasey is the owner of True Training Studio, a gym in Bristol, RI.

  • Sunday, June 8th

    9:00 AM - 9:50 AM

Our final class is game day! We will be synthesizing everything we learned in the last 5 weeks in a final FUN tournament day where we focus on game-like scenarios in the form of scrimmages, speedlax and queen of the hill. The specialist joining today is Zoe Ochoa, assistant coach from Salve Regina University.

Rhode Island Lacrosse is happy to advise on stick lengths, but due to time constraints during the clinic we ask you please adjust the length of the shaft before class.
